Sick of MS Office? Poor like me?
Just downloaded OpenOffice 2.0 and I'm pleasantly surprised by it after all these years. Its completely free and can open and edit excel, word and powerpoint files. Supports the 'Open Document' (uses XML) file standard. Many government organisations are starting to insist on this so they arent tied in to a certain software companies file formats and forced into pointless upgrades. I'm going to use it in work for a while and see how it holds up. If your poor and want to remain a good law abiding citizen like me you could try it yourself. You can even download it via a torrent to give it that 'warez' feel  http://www.openoffice.org/

Yeah I tried that once, but hmm... Microsoft Office 2003 Professional or OpenOffice hmm... Yeah I dont think I'll use a *free* program. I get my kicks out off Microsoft and other really expensive programs like Photoshop CS2 and Studio MX.

Now you've got me thinking! Not sure of other advantages yet because I've only just started using it. It looks like it can do everything I want. Ahh, It directly supports saving files in PDF format, now thats teh pwnage b!tches!. Yeah I tried that once, but hmm... Microsoft Office 2003 Professional or OpenOffice hmm... Agreed, Photoshop and Studio are uber cool apps but come on! Its just an office app. It does the job, its smaller and legal. A win win situation in my book. I only installed it because I couldnt be bothered finding my Office 2000 CD's. Oh well, those will make good holographic coffee mats...

That was for 1.6 not Source, so I'm not sure how easy it would be to port it over. It was really small and unfinished anyways.
